Job Description
The Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts (“The PAC”) hosts an average of 650 events annually. The PAC is home to the NC Symphony, NC Theater and NC Opera and brings major productions and national prominence to Raleigh. The PAC’s Box Office provides direct customer service to our patrons by selling tickets, answering questions distributing will-call and other miscellaneous tasks. Other duties include working with the Finance division to provide reports and respond to inquiries and working with promoters to setup shows for sale. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, ticket data entry and problem-solving skills along with demonstrating excellent customer service skills and flexibility regarding directions.
Work Hours:
This position works primarily on Monday – Friday from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. However, the ability and availability to work nights, weekends and holidays, sometimes frequently and on short notice depending on show scheduling and operational need, is required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist patrons at the ticket window by selling them tickets and answering questions
- Process daily sales reconciliation paperwork and enter information into the EBMS system
- Build shows in the ticketing systems according to promoter specifications, ensuring that all details from promoters are included, set up scaling, ticket prices, on sales, pre-sales, and works with ticketing company on specialized matters requested by promoters
- Pull comp tickets, set up discounts, answer promoters’ inquiries and provide information and support after setting up shows
- Compile a variety of financial and attendance reports
- Prepare daily sales report for management
- Supervise ticket sellers during shows
- Coordinate with the Finance division regarding financial matters concerning ticketing
- Order office supplies
- Schedule ticket sellers for shows
Typical Qualifications
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED and three years of related customer service experience
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years box office or ticketing experience
- Knowledge of Ticketmaster Host, Archtics, and Microsoft Office Suite products

Positions in this class typically require: fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Sedentary Work:
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Working Conditions:
Work is routinely performed in an indoor, office environment.
