Summary
This position is located in the Quality Assurance Branch of the Criminal Division of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. The work involves assisting in managing the operations of the Quality Assurance Branch which is responsible for the review of all case activity as well as monitoring the effective movement of prisoners. The incumbent coordinates with other divisions, branches and agency partners to manage the mental health desk.

Duties
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Manages the operations of the Quality Assurance Branch by sharing with the Branch Chief the responsibility for overall effective accomplishment of the mission assigned to the Branch and the Division.
- Identifies training and development needs of the branch, provides training when possible or makes recommendations to the Branch Chief for outside training.
- Evaluates policies, procedures, practices, and prepares recommendations for improving policy effectiveness.
- Evaluates Calendar Coordinators and Deputy Clerks by conducting performance reviews and providing frequent feedback regarding performance.
- Explains to the staff the standards of sequential events as it related to proceedings heard in a case.
- Handles and oversees prisoner management and movement procedures.
- Reviews judgment and commitment orders, detention and release orders, interpret them to provide guidance for correction for the assigned workforce.
- Compiles reports, both statistical and narrative.
- Collaborates with managers from other divisions and branches as well as with other public and private agencies to coordinate mutual work-related programs and objectives of the Courts.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or G.E.D plus eight (8) years of experience in a court or legal office including at least one (1) year as a first-level supervisor, and one (1) year using a computer system for case management.
DC Courts Management Training Program graduates may substitute for one (1) year of supervisory experience. You must provide documentation of your management training (i.e. photo copy of the certificate.) with your application.

Annual Leave: New full-time employees earn four (4) hours of annual leave biweekly. After three years of service this increases to six (6)hours biweekly, and at 15 years it increases to eight(8)hours biweekly. Most military, federal and District of Columbia government service counts toward the time required to go into the next higher annual leave category. Employees can carry over no more than 240 hours of annual leave into the next leave year.
Sick Leave is used for personal medical needs, care of a family member, or adoption related purposes. Full-time employees earn four(4)hours of sick leave biweekly. This leave can be accrued without limit.
In addition to the federal health plans, the DC Courts offer employees supplemental vision and dental plans as well as a commuter transit benefit subsidy, for a maximum of $150 a month. There are 26 pay periods in the year.
