About the Project Manager, Lead Producer Role:

BRIC seeks a Project Manager, Lead Producer who will manage and help produce “Hip-Hop 50” as well as coordinate with other Brooklyn organizations on the BIPOC Arts and Culture Leader Consortium.

What You’ll Do in the Role:

Hip-Hop 50 Lead Producer
BRIC is launching a sub-brand around Hip-Hop that encompasses programming in many departments. One of the main events associated with this is a Block Party on September 10, 2023 to celebrate Hip-Hop’s 50th anniversary. This will take place at BRIC House and the adjoining area on Rockwell Place. We are seeking a Project Manager, Lead Producer to tie threads together and manage internal and external stakeholders related to this project and other events associated with this sub-brand. This would include:

  • Attending meetings with the Hip-Hop 50 programming team, taking notes, setting agendas, and managing action items
  • Attending meetings with partner organizations and disseminating relevant information
  • Managing project deadlines
  • Working with BRIC production and operations staff to establish production and operations needs
  • Coordinating with Marketing and Communications to manage deadlines for assets and event promotion
  • Liaise with Development and Sponsorship to confirm collaboration opportunities
  • Day-of event onsite production
  • Managing staff working the event

BIPOC Arts and Culture Leader Consortium

BRIC and other BIPOC leaders of Brooklyn organizations are coming together to form a consortium to support cross-promotion and planning, and better advocate for resources as a group. We seek a project manager to do the following:

  • Liaise with all organizations involved to keep track of progress
  • Manage a communal calendar
  • Disseminate information across organizations
  • Organize meetings for the group, take and share notes

  • Experience & Qualifications:
    • Event production and project management experience
  • Communication & Relationship Building: An emotionally intelligent, values- and results-driven leader who can inspire staff and collaborate across departments and at all levels of the organization, and provide feedback and coaching to support the achievement of goals. Highly skilled communicator and relationship builder, both individually and with large groups.
  • Commitment to Equity & Inclusion: Brings experience operationalizing equity within the Performing Arts and or Hospitality function.

Other Things to Know:

  • Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is $35/hr.
  • Status and location: This is a hybrid role. Hours per week vary but may be approximately 25-35 hours per week. The role is anticipated to begin in July 2023 and end in November 2023.
