WUCF
WUCF FM & TV are an NPR-affiliated public radio station and a PBS-affiliated public television station, licensed to and located at the University of Central Florida. The Opportunity:
The Broadcast Specialist II is vital to carry out WUCF’s mission of serving as Central Florida Storyteller. This position may require on-air duties as the content warrants.

Responsibilities:

  • Pitch and research stories, book talent, write copy and help shape editorial high-quality content for WUCF on multiple platforms. This position may require on air duties as the content warrants.
  • Works to support the Sr. Director of Content, Director of Production, Executive Producers to meet department deadlines
  • Researches ideas for local content and conducts planning for shows and other shoots
  • Assists with planning and producing strategic promotional plans
  • Reviews and revises promotional production materials
  • Records footage for local content
  • Edits short and long form local content episodes and promotions
  • Goes on location to lead or assist with recording events, feature stories, documentaries, and client production services
  • Sends out details and necessary files for distribution
  • Communicates productions internally and instructs interns

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with documentary producing and/or historical storytelling.
  • Previous experience writing, shooting and editing content
