A Brief Overview

Performs safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all necessary building systems within a 227,000 s.f., technically sophisticated facility. Job duties include, but are not limited to; electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general preventative maintenance tasks. Must have a basic understanding of building operations and systems. Reports to designated supervisor for daily job assignments. Manages outside vendors and contractors as needed.

What you will do

  • Respond to hot or cold calls, troubleshoot problems and correct as needed.
  • Perform electrical tasks to include safely replacing lighting; ballasts, lamps and LED drivers.
  • Perform plumbing tasks to include resolving problems with sinks and toilets, unclogging pipes, etc.
  • Perform basic carpentry projects to include minor construction projects, painting and repairs.
  • Perform minor furniture modifications and repairs.
  • Pick up and deliver supplies as needed.
  • Inspect facilities on a regular basis for any safety, security, cleaning or general maintenance.
  • Perform monthly preventative maintenance (PM) tasks on time and document same.
  • Provide on-call services as requested and respond promptly in instances of an emergency.
  • Must be able to get along well with co-workers, supervisors and customers.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Understand and comply with all provisions of the Safety in the Workplace policy.

Minimum Requirements

  • Typically requires a minimum of 2 years related experience

Preferred Requirements

  • Associates degree in HVAC trade school or equivalent job experience.
  • 3-5 years facilities/maintenance related experience.
  • Basic competency with MS Outlook, Word and Excel.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience with DDC and electromechanical controls.
  • Able to read basic wiring schematics, with understanding of symbols and sequence of operation.
  • Have a good mechanical aptitude.
  • Be able to perform basic mathematical calculations and be able to read a measuring tape.
  • Must be able to use power tools, including but not limited to; saws, drills, sanders and grinders.
  • Must be a self-starter that performs tasks with little, or no outside vendor assistance.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Frequently remains stationary throughout a typical business day
  • Frequently operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
  • Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and other rooms
  • Occasionally positions self to access drawers and shelves of various heights
  • Frequently reaches for and handles paperwork and files
  • Constantly communicates with customers, coworkers, and management in-person and on the phone
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information

Salary Range

$23.00 Per Hour to $33.00 Per Hour
