    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Bus Driver

    Department: Transportation

    UNION EXEMPT: No

    REPORTS TO: Transportation Supervisor

    WORK DAYS: i hour route after school to drop sports athletes off at Old Middle School

    Position Summary

    Responsible for providing safe transportation for students between pick up/drop off points and school. The driver maintains order during trips and must adhere to all safety rules when loading and unloading pupils.

    DUTIES:

    • Drives a bus on assigned routes in a legal and safe manner.
    • Drivers will also be working with building principals in the area of discipline
    • Instructs students and teachers in emergency bus evacuation procedures.
    • Conducts emergency bus evacuation drills.
    • Instructs students in proper bus conduct.
    • Reports misconduct on bus through established district procedures.
    • Conducts pre-trip and post-trip bus inspection to insure all parts are operating and the bus is safe.
    • Fuels bus as needed.
    • Cleans the interior of the bus daily
    • Cleans the exterior of bus as needed.
    • Completes daily log forms and other required paper work accurately and promptly.
    • Report all bus mechanical deficiencies to the mechanic
    • Other related duties as assigned.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions,

    proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

    REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in

    situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of

    instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

    EDUCATION:

    High School diploma or equivalent

    REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

    Valid Washington State driver’s license with/or the ability to obtain:

    1. Class B CDL and passenger/school bus and air brake endorsements.
    2. School Bus Driver Authorization.
    3. First Aid Card
    4. Medical Examiner’s Certificate
    5. School Bus Driver Physical Certification

    Mandatory Conditions of Employment:

    Successful clearance of the FBI and Washington State Patrol fingerprint background check.

    Successful Washington State Sexual Misconduct clearance.

    Completion of Federal I-9, Employment Verification Eligibility form.
