Summary
Responsible for researching, analyzing, and completing reports on Denton Municipal Electric (DME) operations and supporting DME Business Staff. Develops and implements strategies to accurately and positively communicate DME activities and programs to internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Functions and Other Important Duties
Essential Functions:

  • Works closely with Customer Programs and Communications Manager to help develop, analyze and report on program and event performance.
  • Researches, monitors, and analyzes DME operations; evaluates and recommends solutions to improve and/or maintain functions; completes routine reports.
  • Reviews data and prepares calculations for DME project-related costs; provides recommendations and cost data to leadership.
  • Prepares and completes detailed reports on rate-of-return analyses, customer-contribution calculations, and other potential revenue streams regarding customers in single, double, and triple certified areas.
  • Completes research, analysis, data validation, compliance review, and forecasting on data obtained from reports, data entry integrity, program/projects/department processes and procedures are met, and revenue and/or expenditures related to DME operations; recommends solutions regarding improvements and compliance.
  • Tracks, analyzes, and reports distributed generation interconnections, EV Charger usage and electric vehicle loads.
  • Assists in creating solutions to customer energy challenges and/or service needs.
  • Identifies and resolves application issues within MDMS, NorthStar, and Energy Services projects.
  • Reviews and evaluates existing and potential DME services, products and/or policies in response to industry changes and customer expectations; provides leadership with finding details and recommendations, as needed.
  • Assists with planning, coordinating, and/or participating in various DME activities to support the department/division and community.
  • Researches, identifies, and provides information on grant funding opportunities; prepares, submits, and manages grant proposals.
  • Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to provide support ensuring successful relationships with DME key accounts and/or customers, addressing challenges impacting DME/customers and project/deadline support, as appropriate.
  • Files regulatory reports, as mandated, including but not limited to, Environmental Protection Agency, North Central Texas Council of Governments, Public Utility Commission of Texas, and Electric Reliability Council of Texas.
  • Assists with implementing DME communication plans to promote the DME brand, increase awareness of DME programs, and keep citizens engaged and informed regarding projects and activities through various channels.
  • Maintains regular and punctual attendance.

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications / Acceptable Equivalency:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Science, Finance, Marketing, or related field
  • Four (4) years of analyst work experience

  • Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job.

  • Knowledge of effective research-based strategies, theories, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing complex and/or technical data.

  • Skill with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Ability to use computer network system and/or software applications as needed.

  • Ability to organize and coordinate work, maintain attention to details and quality, and meet deadlines.

Preferences:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred in some settings.
  • Two (2) or more years of work experience with an electric utility or municipality
  • Prior work experience with the Electric Vehicle Industry
  • Prior work experience with rooftop Solar Photovoltaic

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must have and maintain a valid Class “C” Driver’s License and valid state required minimum automobile liability insurance prior to employment (must obtain Texas Class “C” driver’s license and state required minimum automobile liability insurance within 90 days of hire per state law)
  • Must pass a drug test, driver’s license check, criminal history background check and social security number verification.
