IT Services is seeking a Business Analyst to join our BI team.
As a Business Analyst with our team, you will generate insights that will guide operational and product development for our customers. Data analysis is at the core Amazon’s culture, and your work will have a direct impact on decision making and strategy for our team. You will be gathering customer requirements, insights, making recommendations, and helping senior leaders make key business decisions. You will have the opportunity to work with a large and complex data warehouse to gather insights using data from across Amazon.

This candidate must possess excellent analytical skills, project management experience, and a track record of delivering results in a complex and ambiguous environment.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Perform complex business analysis to help drive organizational decision-making
Complete root cause analysis and provide recommendations to senior leadership to address opportunities
Develop automated metrics that will give senior business leaders insight into the performance of their respective teams and the organization as a whole
Partner and iterate with business on their requirements
Develop key metrics and shared goals that determine success for a particular area

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 5+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience
– 3+ years of business or financial analysis experience
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
– Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
– Experience with Excel
– Experience with SQL
– Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
– 5+ years relevant experience in business analyst, data analyst, or statistical analyst role. Experience visualizing data with business intelligence tools like Power BI, Tableau.
– Strong data-collection and analysis skills; strong ability using Excel for data analysis and modeling.
– Good communication and writing. Effectively communicates with both business and technical teams.
– Project management skills; multi-tasks, keeps on track in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
– Passionate about data, discovering trends, driving actions through insights.
– MBA or M.S. in quantitative field like Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $79,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
