Job Title: Business Development Representative
Department: Sales
Reports To: Branch/County Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary:
Responsible for promoting business within the assigned accountability enhancing the overall business image and market share of the company. A business partner to the branch staff to maximize all sales opportunities, proactively create new opportunities and achieve branch sales targets. A strong focus will be on developing and managing relationships and increasing market share.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Assists in executing marketing strategies and objectives to increase market share
- Monitor performance of existing marketing products and services
- Maintain marketing database and customer/prospect files
- Keep current on business trends in each community within the county and of the competitors’ activities
- Identify by customer where business is coming from and where it is going. Maintain and update primary and secondary customer’s list
- Act as a liaison between customers and company personnel in expediting special orders or investigating and securing settlement of complaints, and making appropriate inquiries to ascertain any special needs
- Follow-up by identifying and establishing prospective customers through leads available from all internal and external sources. Assisting escrow officers in establishing customer service quotas and goals
- Produce regularly scheduled reports from sales and marketing database as required. Identify prospective customers and set targets to increase market share.
- Keep current on business trends in each community within the county and prepare market surveys and feasibility studies
- Prepare monthly sales report showing customer volume and areas of proposed client base expansion
- Attend business functions within the community participating in service groups and activities to establish and promote business relationships
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and meet the Company Driver Guidelines criteria for vehicle insurance

- Must be knowledgeable of sales and marketing concepts
- Ability to understand legal documents and descriptions, escrow procedures and phraseology
- Ability to understand title and escrow rate information and communicate the information to given situations
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload
- Ability to work independently and be proactive to problem solving
- Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with internal staff and customers
- Ability to apply logical and critical thinking, always keeping the integrity of the company in the forefront of any decision
- Must display exceptional professionalism in circumstances of high pressure and heavy workload and have the ability to shift priorities and work as a team player in a fast paced work environment
- Ability to demonstrate prospecting, sales planning, selling to customer needs and market knowledge
- Ability to create and present PowerPoint Presentations
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and the general public
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and meet the Company Driver Guidelines criteria for vehicle insurance
Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to travel, walk, sit at a desk, intermittently twist to reach equipment surrounding desk, use telephone and operate office equipment.
