Business Risk Senior Analyst, AVP (hybrid)

The Chief Operating Office of Global Finance is responsible for the design and implementation of risk and control frameworks that span the Finance function globally. Global Finance Operational Risk and Controls team sits within the newly created Finance Risk and Controls functions alongside other key teams sand programs such as Issue Management, Model Strategy, Compliance, Transformation, Finance PMO Governance and EUC Management.

The Business Risk Senior Analyst role focuses on providing governance, oversight and support for the Finance Operational Risk and Management (FORM) function. Applies disciplinary risk and control knowledge by providing value-added perspectives or advisory services to the Citi’s 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Line of Defense, while engaging with key stakeholders and management. Generally, has responsibility for daily business activities, and other periodic reporting processes, ensuring quality, and timeliness of end results and escalation. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required.

Responsibilities:

  • Primary coverage includes, but not limited to, Operational Losses, Industry Events, CCAR, Metrics, and other management reporting processes.
  • For Operational Loss:
    • Assist in the design, communication, and training of Finance stakeholders and partners on the Operational Losses and Loss Capture processes.
    • Monitor and document operational loss event details across the data capture systems
    • Perform data quality review of the loss events for completion and accuracy.
    • Liaise with ORM and provide adequate support and coverage to the Finance Risk and Control Managers (FRCMs).
  • For Industry Events:
    • Assess, monitor, and maintain Finance-related Industry Events information in conjunction with ORM and FRCMs.
    • Review and approve the accuracy and completion of industry event system input.
    • Analyze, escalate, and report on industry events to FRCMs, senior management/committees and other stakeholders, as appropriate.
  • Actively focus on Operational process improvements and creating efficiencies.
  • Identify emerging risks and provide input into the Risk Identification process for Global Finance
  • Assist with varying risk, control, compliance, audit, and regulatory related requests as needed.
  • Awareness of Maintain keen awareness of Citi’s compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Adhere to Citi’s Policy by applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices; and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent people and communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to work collaboratively and build effective cross-functional relationships.
  • Demonstrated judgement and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and follow-up
  • Must have ability to foster working relationships with other partners/ leaders across multiple lines of business and with support organizations including auditors, regulators, and third parties.
  • Excellent computer skills with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (specially in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint).
  • Project management and governance experience with demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed critical milestones.
  • Experience with Citi organization and project management specific tools, a plus.
