We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and highly motivated business sponsorship and event strategist to join the New York Life Group Benefit Solutions team. We are looking for a professional who can take all aspects of our external business development experience to the next level, from developing an annual industry event conference and sponsorship participation strategy to marketing projects related to these events.
The successful candidate should have extensive experience in sponsorship strategy with a focus in Group Insurance/Financial Services as well as brand & marketing communications. In addition, they should have the ability to establish measurements and metrics to determine program effectiveness.
This person should demonstrate strong competence in simultaneously managing multiple projects with attention to detail and achieving all deadlines. This person must have the ability to coordinate multiple internal and external stakeholders at all levels, including managing expectations, providing solutions, and balancing a collaborative approach with the right measure of assertiveness and diplomacy.
Travel will be up to 20% with attendance to a selection of events and tradeshows.
Position Description
- Develop annual marketing event and sponsorship business strategy that optimizes value proposition of business
- Partner with events planning team to manage tactical and logistical planning & execution of assigned tradeshows, events, and conferences.
- Manage event marketing timelines including project management of event-related deliverables including but not limited to collateral support, invitations, selection and ordering of giveaway inventory, and production of marketing materials.
- Manage all budget planning and accruals.
- Report on event ROI with focus on continuous improvement.
Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field required, with additional coursework to support tradeshow management preferred
- 5+ years in group insurance/financial services industry
- Dynamic experience in negotiations with external industry conference trade and marketing vendors.
- Experience working with marketing automation platforms and CRM platforms (Salesforce.com) is preferred
- Exquisite organizational skills and polished written/verbal communication skills
- Quick communication response time to colleagues and clients
- Incredible attention to detail with strong Project Management (PM skills)
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- A strong sense of client orientation, internal or external with a passion for hospitality
- Ability to calculate return on investment (ROI)
- Demonstrated flexibility; can refine the role as need and adapt to change
- Willing to learn, eager to be a part of a fast paced, team environment

Salary range: $90,000-$115,000
