Business Systems Analyst III – Data Management

Zurich North America is currently looking for a Business Systems Analyst to join our Data & Analytics, Data Management team based out of North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois. While this position will be based out of our Schaumburg Headquarters, we are offering the flexibility to work both in the office and remotely. You will collaborate with your manager to set a schedule that supports you, your customers, and the team. While Schaumburg is preferred, we are open to 100% virtual from your home with the understanding that occasional travel to Schaumburg will be required.

The Business Systems Analyst will serve as a liaison between the Business and Data Management, providing solutions to their business systems needs and will understand customers’ objectives, processes, and products as well as the business systems capabilities to formulate, define, document, and implement systems scope and objectives to develop and provides solutions.

In addition, as a key member of the Data Management Support team, the Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for documenting the technical requirements for various master data management/analysis projects.

  • Ability to master complex data transformations concepts, includes data warehousing principles
  • Ability to work to capture requirements in a formal manner
  • Ability to be resilient in the face of a complex system, complex problems, and demanding deadlines
  • Ability to work well with others in a highly interdependent high-performance team

This individual will collaborate with the team to translate business requirements into technical specifications for application updates related to projects, enhancements and compliance needs while working in an Agile environment supporting the design, construction, and implementation of these updates to the applications. The ideal candidate will be an individual that is an energetic and a skilled professional requiring minimal supervision, can lead others, and will serve as the liaison between the Business and IT.

Other responsibilities may include:

  • Coordinate and lead activities with product owners to gather requirements
  • Document detailed functional and non-functional requirements
  • Identify data most valuable to the organization, and evaluate this data and alignment with the corporate data model
  • Manage business rules to enhance and optimize filtering results in the sanctions application
  • Use requirements management tools and techniques such as Use Cases, Data Matrix, Process Flow Diagrams, JIRA, etc.
  • Support development, testing, implementation, and some training activities
  • Understand and apply delivery approaches (i.e., Agile methodology, Scrum) and perform, independently, business analysis processes in accordance with Zurich Project management framework and the Zurich risk policy
  • Provide subject matter discussions to others in the organization

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or Computer Science or Engineering and 8 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area
    AND
  • Process reengineering; LEAN/Six Sigma experience
  • Experience with process modeling tools
  • Insurance application system design/analysis experience
  • Experience with use case development
  • Experience with Rapid Application Development (RAD) tools/techniques

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP)
  • Advanced Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) skills
  • Consulting experience
  • Experience in analytical roles on complex enterprise projects
  • Knowledge of financial services industry
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance business processes and processing
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

The salary range for this role is $93,200.00 – $116,500.00. This is the range Zurich NA in good faith believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of the posting. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed remotely in any US state. Base pay offered may vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also bonus eligible. No amount is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
