We have a great opportunity for a Supply-Chain Buyer to join our Team!
OVERVIEW
The Replenishment Buyer is an integral part of the purchasing department, assisting in all buying activities and procedures. This person will work in conjunction with the Central Supply Team, Operations and General Managers to procure all raw materials and packaging and ensure that the right products, right quantities and pricing are available at the right time through acute attention to detail, strong follow-up and communication skills. The buyer will work with the inventory,receiving and planning teams within the plant to assure productivity and accuracy. The Buyer will also measure usage, waste and consumption rates to place orders and keep the facility in stock while maintaining appropriate safety stocks and efficient quantities.
Compensation- $55,000-$78,000 based on experience
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage handover from Sourcing Team to plan timely deliveries for samples and launch materials
- Ensure sourcing decisions provide the necessary balance between purchase cost, capacity, flexibility, and supplier performance
- Manage site system-driven MRP to deliver planned purchases in coordination with delists to minimize waste, additional fees and freight costs
- Responsible for accurate and timely PO creation and submission, identifying and incorporating freight and additional costs where applicable
- Collaborate and coordinate with other facilities to combine orders of like items to meet vendor minimums and maximize vendors’ production efficiency
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to facilitate problem resolution. Set expectations and monitor via set KPIs.
- Setup and obtain approval for any FedEx shipments and maintain the FedEx Log
- Perform ad-hoc requests and analyses as needed and assist cross-functionally to solve problems as they occur
- Cost reporting and invoice validation when requested
- Analyze the source of Daily Waste to determine the root cause and advise on processes alterations to prevent reoccurance
- Ensure that new launches are successful through the timely purchase and logistical delivery coordination of new materials and ingredients
- Challenge minimum order quantities in line with forecast requirements. Highlight any potential issues with recommendations to resolve with the central supply team.
- Supports the Quality Assurance and Operations departments by working with suppliers to ensure continuous quality improvements and quick product claims resolution
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
Skills and Requirements
- Experience utilizing ERP systems required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong data analysis background
- Experience in Food Procurement requires, including all types of packaging, ranging from short life fresh ingredients to long shelf-life ingredients preferred
Experience / Education
- Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree in Business, computer science, statistics, engineering, mathematics, numerical analysis, or a related field or relative work experience
- 4 years’ experience in sourcing, purchasing and/or inventory control
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Working Conditions: Work is primarily conducted in office, however some work may be conducted remotely via technology. This position may require night and/or weekend work.

This position is located on a public street and near retail stores. Employee may be exposed to the general public, vehicles and exhaust. This building has a kitchen that is used on a daily basis. Employee is frequently exposed to food aromas, smoke, and other related cooking and cleaning activities. Physical Demands: Some lifting (up to 30 lbs. and pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs). Long hours sitting and using a computer, keyboard smartphone, etc. Occasional standing and/or walking. May need to travel between buildings or plants. Travel may be required on an occasional basis which will include traveling through airports, hotels and other public areas.
