C++ Full Stack Software Developer II

Overview

The ArcGIS ModelBuilder development team is looking to hire a talented programmer who can code powerful and intuitive software. ModelBuilder is a visual programming language used to visualize and automate analytical and data processing workflows in Esri’s ArcGIS products. The developer will leverage full stack development experience to create robust backend functions in C++ and user-friendly frontends in C#. This a great opportunity to join a fast-paced and agile team as we create tools used by a global customer base to solve diverse and critical spatial analysis crises.

Responsibilities

  • Follow design patterns, development methodologies, and deployment techniques using programming languages C++, C#, WPF framework, and MVVM architecture
  • Create and enhance diagramming interfaces and user experiences for ArcGIS Pro to allow simple and complex sequences of tools to run efficiently
  • Find, analyze, and fix software bugs
  • Partner with product specialists and designers
  • Become an expert in our diagramming library and the backend APIs and framework used by ArcGIS ModelBuilder
  • Run unit tests to ensure high quality development

Requirements

  • 2+ years solid experience in C++ software development
  • Knowledge of asynchronous programming patterns and parallel processing methods
  • Firm understanding of data structures and object-oriented programming
  • Success in building software as part of an agile team
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work productively with a diverse group of developers, product specialists, designers, and testers
  • Proven ability to adapt and master new technology quickly
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field

Recommended Qualifications

  • Familiarity with frontend coding languages and development practices, including participating in software design
  • Experience with Agile software development using Scrum
  • Experience writing testable (or test-driven) software

Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is $93,600.00 – $156,000.00.
