Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
$ 16.00 an hour. This position is responsible for delivering and setting up food and beverage service in guest rooms. This position assists in the preparation of food service supplies and setting up of the cart. Reviews orders for proper presentation and completeness prior to delivery.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide prompt, friendly and complete service of food and beverage items to guest rooms upon request.
- Ensures that all food items requested and necessary supplies are obtained and delivered in a friendly and timely manner.
- Coordinates the delivery schedules of amenities and food and beverage orders to best accommodatethe guests.
- Facilitates the immediate accommodation of guest requests.
- Follows all applicable safety precautions.
- Ensures that all items are presented in accordance with departmental guidelines.
- Clocks guest checks out and in.
- Closes guest checks upon delivery.
- Complete service preparation functions as required.
- Perform side work to include, but not limited to filling sugar bowls and salt/pepper shakers, foldingnapkins and general organization of storage areas.
- Works additional hours on short notice as requested by management, in order to accommodate one of the following: staffing emergency, employee absence, fluctuation in business levels, special projects, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Previous food server experience in a high volume restaurant preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic reading, writing, mathematical skills.
- Demonstrate ability to exercise good judgment.
- Must be a Team Player and possess a polished appearance
- Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time (minimum of four hours).
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency while performing tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the casino; from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator.
- Must be able to lift, carry and/or push a minimum of 40 lbs.
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, bend, twist, turn, push, pull, grasp objects and the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
- Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke, dust, loud noises and bright lights.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
