Boeing’s Advanced Design and Prototype Solutions (ADaPS) organization in Huntsville, AL is looking for an Experienced Software Engineer to contribute to advanced development of Space Launch System (SLS). Boeing is the prime contractor for the design, development, test and production of the launch vehicle core stage and upper stages, as well as development of the flight avionics suite.
ADaPS (an organization of over 100 software engineers) supports programs across the entire portfolio of Boeing products including Space Launch Systems (SLS) Upper Stage, Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD – missile defense), Commercial Space Crew Transportation System (CST-100), and Advanced Missile Defense efforts including Patriot Advanced Capability. ADaPS specializes in implementing rapid prototyping and development programs using small, adaptable agile teams.

Position Responsibilities :
- Contribute to development and testing of model and simulations used in Space Launch System Exploratory Upper Stage program.
- Work in small agile teams composed of diverse engineering skills.
- Use your talents to tackle complex problems on a variety of programs.
- Responsible for developing technical products, plans, documentation, and briefings in support of program requirements.
This position allows limited telecommuting. (Hybrid) The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. (Huntsville, AL)
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
- Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree
- At least 3 or more years of total programming experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
One or more of the following are desired:
- Master’s degree in a software, engineering, science, or mathematics discipline.
- Programming experience, school project or internships using one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Java, C#
- Work experience with integrating multiple models into a large integrated simulation is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity or experience with developing and deploying simulations on distributed machines or virtual machines.
- Familiarity or experience with developing code communicating across network protocols.
- Familiarity or experience with MATLAB Simulink.
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience).
In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range: $104,000 – $141,450
