Description:
Under the supervision of an instructor or head camp counselor, assists with the organization, supervision and instruction of planned activities/classes. Staff member, in conjunction with the supervisor, is responsible for the safety and well being of assigned group of campers.
Job Summary:
- Assists supervisor in carrying out activities.
- Assist with the supervision of assigned group of campers during all activities.
- Assist with pre and post group tasks.
- Assist with the safety and well being of assigned group of campers until they go home.
- To carry on activity/class instruction, when appropriate, in the absence of the supervisor.
- Carries out other duties and tasks as assigned.
- Assist campers with activities of daily living as needed.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work with a variety of special populations and age groups.
- Ability to work in multi-cultural camper population.
- Community CPR/AED certification preferred.
- Read: Ability to read staff manuals, memoranda, and attendance sheets.
Write: Ability to complete attendance sheets, accident reports, incident reports and camper behavior reports using prescribed format and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, and style.
Speak: Ability to give verbal direction to subordinates, communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, citizens, and the public as well as other employers
Rate:
Starting at $15.00/ hour
Schedule:
This is a part-time, seasonal summer position. Schedule includes three consecutive weeks during the summer. Typical working hours are 8:00am-3pm at camp location.
