Job Summary
The Performance Measurement Lead will provide analytical and functional support to the Electric Asset Strategy Group. The position specifically mines and collects data, performs data analysis, and uses analysis to identify trends, potential causes and the likelihood of future outcomes based on historical data. The position also provides technical/analytical expertise and functional support in the area of Reliability and Asset Strategy, and functional analysis for processes and initiatives (e.g applying machine learning algorithms and statistical models to existing data sets in order to identify trends/patters that predict the probability of an asset failing, show degradation of asset performance compared to its peers and define the risks associated with an asset failing). Support for identifying, prioritizing and coordinating implementation efforts for the top Utility strategic objectives, as well as the reporting and metrics/measures of those efforts. Lead on Reliability Review presentation development for Senior Leadership.
Work with a team to develop project plans for analytical studies, help secure the resources necessary to achieve plan and work with the team to execute the study. This will include:
- Understanding the data-analytic problem presented
- Identifying data sets and variables necessary to perform the analysis
- Securing access to the data and extracting the data in a logical and efficient manner
- Cleaning and validating the data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and uniformity
- Devising and applying models and algorithms to mine the data
- Using statistical and machine learning tools to identify patterns and trends
- Interpreting the data to discover solutions and opportunities
- Communicate finding to stakeholders using visualization and other mean
Job Responsibilities
- Provide analytical and program support to the Electric Asset Strategy Group.
- Gather and link data from diverse sources in order to perform analyses, identify trends and correlations, develop and track metrics, identify performance gaps, deliver actionable information and present opportunities for improvement.
- Apply predictive analytics to extract information from existing data sets in order to determine patterns and forecast future outcomes and trends.
- Support the assessment, analysis, development and implementation of program related data and material.
- Develop a method for storing, tracking data and electronic files (i.e., Microsoft Sharepoint, network drives, etc.), and design with recommendations for consolidation, security, efficiency and usability improvements.
- Lead on presentation development for Senior Leadership and all LOB’s in the utility
- Designs, develops and delivers standardized databases, forms, queries and reports for capturing, organizing, tracking, retrieving, assembling and disseminating data and metrics from the following:
- Internal/External Stakeholders
- Reports as determined by Utility senior management
- Develops and maintains databases, spreadsheets, presentations, documents, PowerBI data visualization files, etc.

Job Specific Qualifications
Required:
- BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years relevant professional work experience; 5 to 7 years of business analysis/professional experience working with large data sets
- Ability to support thoughtful decisions by gathering, transforming and analyzing data to develop and document conclusions and / or recommendations
- Demonstrated organization and high level of analytical and quantitative analysis skills
- Proficiency with MS Office products (e.g. Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Experience in data mining, database development, query and report design, or programming (e.g., SQL, SAS, Python, R)
- Demonstrated experience with predictive analytics tools and techniques
- Demonstrated ability to develop new approaches with applicable tools to measure success
- Detail oriented, driven and able to effectively work independently
- Exceptional written and verbal communications skills and effectively communicate results of analytic models and insights from data mining to subject matter experts and team members
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across department boundaries and build and maintain relationships within our AMCS, Electric Operations and IT departments and participate in cross functional teams

- Track record of managing complex multi-disciplined projects
- Knowledge of OSI soft ‘s application suite
- Experience working in a Utility with some knowledge of electric/gas transmission and distribution systems
- Demonstrated experience in applying machine learning techniques and algorithms such as Naive Bayes, Decision Forests, etc., using common data science toolkits such as SAS, R or Python, using query languages such as SQL, applying statistics skills such as distributions, statistical testing and regression.
- Comfortable with public speaking and giving presentations to a variety of audiences and facilitating joint union/management process improvement teams
