Description
The Career Center Program Supervisor will serve as the subject matter expert for assigned workforce program(s). This position will oversee program(s) to ensure that programmatic requirements and performance deliverables are met consistently. The Program Supervisor will also ensure that local operating procedures and processes are implemented to enhance and/or maintain a high level of customer service and will supervise and manage direct reports as assigned. This position performs programmatic reviews and file monitoring, and some case management duties as assigned. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Director, Career Center.
Examples of Duties
1. Responsible for the day-to-day oversight of workforce and other career center programs.
2. Manage the applicable program(s) to meet/exceed defined goals.
3. Maintain subject matter expert level knowledge on all appropriate federal, state, and local laws; regulations; and guidance for the identified program.
4. Perform case management duties when appropriate, to ensure career center remains operational.
5. Communicate new and/or modified policies and procedures to staff and ensure adherence.
6. Provide technical assistance to career center staff to improve performance as well as quality and customer service satisfaction.
7. Perform quality assurance file reviews/monitoring to ensure program compliance.
8. Responsible for managing and conducting analysis of workforce activities to ensure implementation of policies and procedures.
9. Evaluate policies and procedures and adherence to contract requirements.
10. Collaborate with Sector Leadership teams and other Operations Management to ensure that all operating standards are maintained.
11. Communicate effectively with management and appropriate staff, as the point person for programmatic issues and resolutions.
12. Provide additional and supportive training to direct reports once initial training has been administered by the Center Director, or any other management team surrounding program compliance.
13. Ensure that all career center staff can demonstrate the required knowledge and skills for their position as it relates to workforce program(s).
14. Manage and conduct quality reviews; prepare reports and monitor documents for dissemination, effectively communicating findings and recommendations to management and appropriate staff.
15. Ensure appropriate actions are taken to avoid monitoring findings; review and implement internal systems geared toward reducing and/or eliminating findings and observations; Ensure that federal, state, and/or local corrective actions are completed within required timelines.
16. Perform sound analysis of workforce programs and other related data, identify trends, and mobilize staff to take action.
17. Perform a variety of office management functions and administrative duties requiring an extensive working knowledge of the Career Center and programs.
18. Assist in College recruitment and retention efforts, as appropriate.
19. Required to attend Graduation/Commencement ceremonies.
20. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Public Relations, Social Work, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Two years of supervisory experience to include experience in workforce development, economic development, or human resources.
  • Two years of customer service experience required.
  • Excellent communication skills (must speak, read, and write in English).
  • Multilingual (Spanish and/or Creole) preferred.

Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations:

  • Required to be Tier I certified within 10 business days of employment.
  • Required to be Tier 2 certified within 9 months of employment.

PAID TUITION – Tuition fees for credit courses taken at the College are waived for employees and their eligible dependents, including domestic partners.
