General Statement of the Job & Essential Functions
GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of carts to include prepping carts for the day, staging, picking the driving range, cleaning, sanitizing, charging, checking tire pressure, preventative maintenance, and putting away the carts at night. Reports to Golf Professional.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provides efficient, helpful and courteous service to all customers and guests.
Checks carts out and in for all golfers; cleans all carts after each use; rotates carts each day; ensures carts are maintained daily and kept in good working order; and follows procedures for requesting maintenance for golf carts that need repair.
Performs other related work as required. Individual assignments will be determined by supervisor based on current workload and department needs.

PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Knowledge of Job: Has knowledge of municipal golf course operations to include cart maintenance and attendance procedures. Is aware of the occupational hazards, safety precautions, and safety regulations related to equipment operation, and other work related precautions. Has considerable knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service, which includes setting and meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Quality of Work: Maintains high standards of accuracy in exercising duties and responsibilities. Exercise immediate remedial action to correct any quality deficiencies that occur in areas of responsibility. Maintains high quality communication and interacts with all departments, co-workers and the general public.
Quantity of Work: Maintains effective and efficient output of all duties and responsibilities as described under “Essential Job Functions”.
Dependability: Assumes responsibility for doing assigned work and for meeting deadlines. Completes assigned work on or before deadlines in accordance with directives, policies, standards and prescribed procedures. Accepts accountability for meeting assigned responsibilities in the technical, human and conceptual areas.
Attendance: Attends work regularly and adheres to policies and procedures regarding absences and tardiness. Provides adequate notice to higher management with respect to vacation time and time-off requests.

Coordination of Work: Plans and organize daily work routine. Establishes priorities for the completion of work in accordance with sound time-management methodology. Avoids duplications of efforts. Estimates expected time of completion of elements of work and establishes a personal schedule accordingly. Attends meetings, planning sessions and discussions on time. Implements work activity in accordance with priorities and estimated schedules. Maintains a calendar for meetings and deadlines.
Safety and Housekeeping: Adheres to all safety and housekeeping standards established by the city and various regulatory agencies. Sees that the standards are not violated. Maintains a clean and orderly workplace.
Education, Experience & Special Requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Applicants need to be at least 16 years old and eligible to work in the United States. Some experience playing golf or performing minor preventative vehicle maintenance is preferred, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
An acceptable general background check to include a local and state criminal history check and sex offender registry check.
A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Individuals in this position cannot be listed as having a founded child abuse or neglect complaint.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR STANDARDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Physical Requirements: Requires the ability to exert moderate and frequent physical effort. May involve walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds). May occasionally involve heavier objects and materials (up to 100 pounds). Must be able to perform job functions in adverse weather conditions, including summer heat, rain, wind and cold winter days.
Data Conception: Requires the ability to compare and/or judge the readily observable, functional, structural, or compositional characteristics (whether similar to or divergent from obvious standards) of data, people or things.
Interpersonal Communication: Requires the ability of speaking and/or signaling people to convey or exchange information. Includes receiving instructions, assignments and directions from supervisor and to the public.
Language Ability: Requires the ability to read route assignment sheets. Require the ability to complete route assignments and completion sheets, leave slips and time sheets using prescribed format. Requires the ability to communicate effectively in standard English.
Intelligence: Requires the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or two-step instructions; to deal with standardized situations with occasional or no variables in or from these situations encountered on the job.
Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, to follow oral and written instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently using standard English, and golf terminology.
Numerical Aptitude: Requires the ability to utilize mathematical formulas, add and subtract totals, multiply and divide and determine percentages and decimals.
Form/Spatial Aptitude: Requires the ability to inspect items for proper length, width and shape.
Motor Coordination: Requires the ability to coordinate hands and eyes rapidly and accurately in using automated office and golfing equipment.
Manual Dexterity: Requires the ability to handle a variety of items, automated office equipment, etc. Must have minimal levels of eye/hand/foot coordination.
Color Discrimination: Requires the ability to differentiate between colors and shades of color.
Interpersonal Temperament: Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. Must be adaptable to performing under stress and when confronted with persons acting under stress.
