Position Information
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, this position is responsible for collecting admission fees, greeting visitors, answering telephones, checking in participants, and providing general information to museum visitors. Candidates must have: good oral communications and interpersonal skills; the ability to use a computer and phone (for communications); the ability to perform basic math (addition and subtraction) is mandatory.
In the performance of their respective tasks and duties all employees are expected to:

- Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
- Observe applicable safety requirements, use safety equipment provided, implement appropriate safety practices at all times and report immediately any unsafe working conditions or hazards.
Essential Duties
• Operate computer based ticketing system to record fees from admission and other services.
• Collect admission fees and payments for goods and services, issue appropriate change.
• Provide quality customer service and ensure accurate point of sale transactions.
• Provide information to visitors regarding special events or activities and location of exhibits.
• Organize information for, and provide assistance to groups and individuals picking up tickets.
Minimum Qualifications
• Good math aptitude (counting money, giving change, etc.)
• Work independently with little or no supervision, be self-motivated, and work well as a team
• Work well under stress and in a fast paced environment
• Excellent communication skills with an ability to listen, follow directions and convey information
• Excellent customer service skills, ability to work with a wide variety of people
• Be reliable, responsible, and flexible
• Must be at least 16 years of age or older
