In your catering supervisor role, you will lead food preparation and catering setup and mentor student team members in their catering production work and learning. From weddings to breakfast meetings, no two days are the same. In this position, you will also help with other dining-related efforts, such as inventory and helping ensure we have a safe, sanitary dining experience behind the scenes and in our front-of-house.
Base salary is $45,750 with earning potential from $48K to $53K based on night and weekend opportunities andovertimepotential. Responsibilities: Oversees daily food service operations and performs food preparation activities in environments such as dining, retail, and/or catering venues to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve food service goals.
- 30% Assigns and coordinates the day-to-day activities of food service staff
- 5% Develops and schedules logistics and menus for daily and catering operations
- 30% Leads and provides exceptional customer service, answers questions, and provides information regarding food preparation, catering, and associated activities
- 15% Performs routine and non-routine food preparation activities including cook to order and specialty foods
- 15% Cleans, inspects, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas
- 5% Adheres to federal, state, campus, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures

The Wisconsin Union operates from several buildings on the UW-Madison campus including Memorial Union, Union South, Fluno Center, Pyle Center, University Club, Red Gym, and the Student Activity Center. The Wisconsin Union is a financially self-supporting division of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Financial support for the organization is provided by income earned by over thirty food service units and a variety of nonfood units such as games, guest rooms, space rentals and campus vending. Substantial support is also provided by student fees. The total annual organizational budget is approximately $60 million dollars.
