A Day in the Life:
As a CDL A Truck Driver at Albertson’s, you’re on-the-go throughout your day operating a tractor trailer combination to deliver groceries to your local stores. Safety is a key priority, you’ll be validating and securing all loads and inspecting the tractor and trailer per DOT regulations (Pre-trip). During the day you work independently but your work is a part of a bigger team within our warehouse in support of keeping our communities healthy, well, and fed. Job Responsibilities:
- Drivers will deliver to retail stores throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Must be comfortable with city driving as well as highway driving.
- Drive a tractor-trailer combination, applying knowledge of commercial driving (CDL A) regulations, to safely transport and deliver products
- Perform Pre & Post rip inspection. If dropping and hooking a new trailer, a trailer inspection will be performed.
- Maneuver truck into loading or unloading position
- Interact with customer/ stores and ensure correct delivery by checking pallet tags and load manifests.
- Drivers are responsible for delivering merchandise from the warehouse to retail stores.
- Perform back hauls from vendors to warehouse or alternate location.
- Electronic logging — per I.C.CC regulationsInspect truck before and after trips and submit report indicating truck condition
- Read bill of lading to determine assignment
- Secure load on trailer prior to transporting
- May load or unload, or assist in loading and unloading truck
- Shifts vary according to delivery schedules
- Comply with FMCSA/DOT/Albertsons policies and procedures
What you bring to the table:
- You enjoy working in roles that require constant physical activity
- You take pride in the work you do, with every detail, whether big or small & being a part of your community matters
- You are 21 years of age or older and have a valid CDL Class A commercial driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
- You have 2+ years of commercial driving experience within the last 5 years
- Must have evening & weekend availability.
- You must be able to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to comply with DOT/I.C.CC/FMCSA regulations
