Summary

Under moderate supervision: Perform Cellar Tech I tasks: Clean & sanitize equipment, apply good housekeeping practices, perform wine movements, top barrels, add chemicals to wine, operate less complex equipment, measure and calculate workplace data.

Compensation

$20.82 – 28.13
Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

What you will do
• Under supervision performs basic operation and minimal troubleshooting of cellar equipment (Centrifuges, crossflows, JWI, PacPres, Velo’s, Dynamos, Suprapak and Millipore)
• Perform all tasks under minimal supervison ( Racks, Transfers, Tank sanitation, additions, chills, CL02 and lower DO/CO2s)
• Performs Heat exchange and blends with minimal supervision
• Operate harvest equipment (E-Floats, Yeast hydrators and presses)
• Ensure all additions, Racks, transfers, chills and lower DO operations are done per the work orders
• Engages in general wine production functions such as red and white juice racking, supporting fermentation process, additions, sanitation, etc.
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency for Safety, Quality, and Productivity
• Communicates effectively with team members, leadership and other departments.
• Must maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
• Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations.
• Works on various truck stations for both shipping and receiving as per the work orders and truck schedule.

Qualifications
• High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate; or one year of wine production experience.
• Required to be 18 years of age or older.
• Required to be physically capable of executing any job tasks within the bottling room or cellar operations.
• Must be able to repetitively lift and uncase glass cases onto a conveyer belt.
• Required to work any assigned shift (day, swing, graveyard, 5×8, 4×10); required to work weekends and overtime when necessary.
• Required to wear a respirator when necessary.
• Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
• Required to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Required to comply with company GMP policies.
• Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
• Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.
• Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

Physical Demands
• Required to be physically capable of executing any job tasks within the production facilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to:
• Frequently stand, walk, kneel, bend, talk and hear. Lift, roll and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Reach, push and pull with hands and arms, twist and turn, squat and climb and balance.

Work Enviromernt
• Works in all areas of winery where temperatures and conditions may vary.
• Works with and around chemicals, including (but not limited to) Sulfur Dioxide, Peracetic Acid, Laco-quat, Carbon Dioxide, Sterox and tartaric acid.
• The employee is frequently exposed to working at elevate heights; moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
