Certified Nursing Assistant CNA

An exciting opportunity has become available at the Center at Lincoln for CNAs to join our clinical team. We are seeking compassionate and skilled Certified Nursing Assistants to join our team and provide high-quality care to our patients. The Certified Nursing Assistants are responsible for providing direct care to patients. Such care must be delivered in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our Center, and as may be required by the Center’s Directors.

Job Duties:

  • Participate in and receive the nursing report upon reporting for duty
  • Assists with ADLs
  • Takes vitals and records them according to protocol
  • Answers call lights and assists patients in a timely manner
  • Communicates with nursing staff and care team effectively, both verbally and in writing and carry out directives
  • Prepares patients for therapy services, visitors, appointments, meals, activities, etc
  • Keeps patient rooms tidy and free of clutter – light housekeeping duties
  • Administers services within the applicable scope of practice
  • Charts notes in professional and appropriate manner that timely, accurately and thoroughly to reflect the care provided to the patient, as well as the patient’s response to the care. Uses only approved abbreviations
  • Ensure that the patient’s room is ready for receiving the patient (i.e., bed made, name tags up, admission kit available, etc.)
  • Greet patient and escort them to their room
  • Report all changes in the patients to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse as soon as practical
  • Report all accidents and incidents you observe on the shift that they occur
  • Keep patients dry (i.e., change gown, clothing, linen, etc., when it becomes wet or soiled)
  • Change bed linens, make beds. Keep linens tight to avoid wrinkles from forming under the patients
  • Assist in transporting patients to/from appointments, activity and social programs, etc., as necessary
  • Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting patients into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts etc
  • Assist patients to walk with or without self-help devices as instructed
  • Ensure that patients who are unable to call for help are checked frequently
  • Check each patient routinely to ensure that his/her personal care needs are being met in accordance with his/her wishes

Qualifications:

  • Current CNA certificate in Colorado
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
