The Opportunity
The Chief Financial Office (CFO) Future Leaders Program is designed to develop entry level talent to be the future generation of leaders for the organization through meaningful projects and team assignments, senior leader exposure, and professional development opportunities within CFO at USAA. The program is a 2-year rotational program where participants will rotate through a series of challenging and unique assignments. Each assignment will be approximately 12 months in length but may vary based on division and business needs. Throughout the rotation, participants can expect to enhance their business and CFO acumen, leadership skills, gain exposure to key CFO areas and disciplines, interact with executive leaders, and receive frequent developmental feedback.

Our interns deliver innovative solutions to real business challenges, while building enduring relationships in a collaborative culture with their manager and an assigned mentor.
This position is based in San Antonio, TX or Charlotte, NC.
What you’ll do:
Under direct supervision and following risk and compliance procedures and guidance, you will perform routine work assignments and problem resolution to support other team members tasks, including the following
- Within defined guidelines and frameworks, uses financial principles to solve business problems while performing forecasting, planning, and financial modeling related to income, profitability, liquidity, capital, leverage, asset and liability management or operating expense
- Supports preparation of recurring or ad-hoc financial reports and analysis or cost benefit analysis to support internal and external management decision-making.
- Under supervision, contributes to the preparation of informed, proactive analysis to enable effective decision-making and efficient resource utilization.
- Identifies and handles existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and ensures risks are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled
- Ensures all activities are completed within regulatory and compliance guidelines.
What you need to have:
To qualify, you must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, and graduate after the final day of the internship. Most of our interns participate the summer between their junior and senior years. Our 2024 internship will start on May 29, 2024 and last through August 9, 2024.
- Graduation date cannot be prior to August 10, 2024
- 0 to 2 years of related experience and accountability for simple to moderately complex tasks and/or projects required.
- Foundational and conceptual knowledge of the function/subject area and demonstrated application of knowledge, skills and abilities towards work products required.
- Foundational level of business acumen in the areas of the business operations, industry practices and emerging trends required.
What sets you apart:
- Academic concentration in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Risk Management or related field
- Graduation date in Spring 2025
- Overall GPA of 3.0 or greater

What we offer:
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the hourly range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual hourly rate for this role may vary by location. The range for this position is: $21 – $30.
Interns will receive an intern stipend to assist with expenses.
