About The Candidate / Role
Tradewind Aviation is seeking a full-time Charter Sales Manager to join the team at the Oxford, CT headquarters. A relocation and sign-on bonus is available for the ideal candidate.
The Charter Sales Manager holds the pivotal role of leading and managing the Charter Sales team. Their primary objective is to inspire the team to unleash their creativity, achieve efficiency, and deliver prompt service, ultimately driving sales growth and enhancing customer satisfaction. In pursuit of these goals, the manager assumes the responsibility of providing strong and positive leadership, offering valuable guidance, and conducting ongoing training sessions aligned with company’s objectives.
In addition, the Charter Sales Manager plays a crucial role in cultivating a thriving work culture that fosters exceptional employee morale and attracts top-tier talent, while nurturing a spirit of continuous growth. The manager consistently pursues a standard of excellence in customer service, aiming to deliver a premier experience with each client interaction.
The ideal candidate will have private aviation industry, and sales team management experience. The candidate is a strong leader who is flexible and adaptable, has ethical conduct and possesses the skills to build a strong team. Excellent communication skills are crucial in this role.
Must be flexible with work schedule and able to work non-standard schedules as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage a team of high performing Charter Sales and Client Services Coordinators, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure their success.
- Meet and exceed sales and customer service goals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key retail clients, brokers, travel agents.
- Support the sales efforts of the team by providing expertise, guidance, and assistance in securing private charter trips and new clients.
- Ensure accurate and timely communication of sales-related information and updates to the team.
- Collaborate with the Marketing, Scheduling and Dispatch teams to identify new sales opportunities.
- Take ownership of service disruptions, ensuring appropriate follow-up actions with clients and other teams.
- Monitor and hold sales teams accountable for sales targets and key performance indicators.
- Continuously improve workflow processes and document procedures for increased efficiency.
- Manage team schedules, ensuring proper staffing at all times.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration or relevant field.
- Proven experience in private aviation or charter services, with a strong understanding of the industry.
- Knowledgeable in the use of Avinode or equivalent charter sales software tools.
- Knowledge of aviation regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
- Previous experience in team management in a leadership role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and effectively liaise with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Computer proficient.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to handle customer issues in a calm and professional manner.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work at non-standard times when needed.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 lbs. at a time.

Salary Description
$75,000 – $100,000 / per year
