Duties

  • Serves as Chief Fitness, Athletics, and Aquatics Division, directing and supervising personnel and functions required to plan, organize and
    conduct a multi-faceted recreational sports, fitness and aquatics program.
  • Plans and coordinates the work of the Division and oversees the overall planning, direction, and timely execution of the Division
    programs.
  • Ensures compliance with officiating code of ethics and the maintenance of minimum standards established by the local governing sports
    officials association or Sports National Governing Body.
  • Develops long- range plans, goals and objectives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Possesses and maintains the following certifications: CPR, First Aid, and AED. Must complete the following courses/classes: MWR Orientation Course; Customer Service; Equipment (Safe Operation and Basic Maintenance Repair).

Qualifications

Progressive related work experience that includes the demonstrated ability to plan, supervise, administer or carry out fitness, sports and

aquatics programs that include a variety of individual and team sports and events; and ability to manage staff that guide participants in

developing the skills needed for participation in sports, fitness, and aquatics activities. The related work experience must have been

equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level.

HIGHLY PREFERRED CRITERIA:

1. Possess a four (4) year college degree in physical education, kinesiology, exercise, or equivalent and work experiences as indicated above.

2. Possess a minimum of three (3) years of management experience managing at least two (2) of the following: multiple sized fitness centers, adult sports programs, or aquatics facilities.

3. Possess two (2) years of experience developing and executing program growth strategies.

4. Possess two (2) years of experience utilizing strategic planning techniques to grow business/programs, (i.e. SWOT analysis, industry/customer trends, department level objectives, staffing needs, fiscal needs, etc.).

5. Possess two (2) years of experience developing, managing, and monitoring multiple budgets to meet or exceed budget targets.
