The Boeing Software Engineering organization is seeking a Chief of Staff to provide support to the Vice President and General Manager. This is a fully virtual position and can be worked from any US-based location. The Chief of Staff role is a key position in the Boeing Software organization. This position requires strong engagement with software engineering leaders from across the Boeing enterprise. This position requires a broad business knowledge to connect and collaborate with enterprise stakeholders to support recommendations to the Vice President/General Manager. The person in this role will keep the pulse internally and externally on prevailing issues impacting software and guide the Vice President/General Manager to key areas of focus.
The Chief of Staff is responsible for the preparation of Software Engineering presentations and will support communications for external presentations and speeches. In this position, you will partner with the Vice President/General Manager’s Executive Office Administrator on the calendar and engagement Strategy to prioritize events/meetings/travel for the Vice President/General Manager.
This role requires the ability to establish relationships quickly at all levels of the organization. The Chief of Staff will need a strong understanding of prevailing function and organizational issues and need to provide recommendations on how address any issues. Being successful in this position requires coordination at all organizational levels of the Engineering Test & Technology (ET&T) business unit including coordination with Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Chief of Staff is an important element of this role.

Position Responsibilities :
- Provides dedicated support to the Engineering Test & Technology (ET&T) Software Engineer Vice President
- Requires strong engagement with Software Engineering leaders from across the Boeing enterprise
- Requires a broad business knowledge to connect and collaborate with enterprise stakeholders to support recommendations to the Vice President/General Manager
- Keep the pulse internally and externally on prevailing issues impacting Software and guide the Vice President/General Manager to key areas of focus
- Requires experience in preparing high-level executives’ presentations and have a strong understanding of the levels of communications needed to be successful in developing Software Engineering presentations for internal and external stakeholders
- Requires the ability to build relationships quickly at all levels of the organization
- A strong understanding of prevailing function and organizational issues and be able to provide recommendations on how address any issues
- Being successful in this position requires coordination at all organizational levels of the Engineering Test & Technology (ET&T) business unit including coordination with Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Chief of Staff is an important element of this role
This position has been identified as a virtual opportunity and will not require the selected candidate to relocate.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience) :
- Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree
- Minimum of 10 years of professional software development experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a formal leadership role, leading teams or projects to successful completion
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to drive change and transformation while dealing with ambiguity in a complex, dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) :
- Experience with working across an enterprise wide organization
- Experience working with all levels of leadership inclusive of executives

Summary pay range: $143,650 – $224,250
