Job Description
The Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business at the University of Missouri seeks a talented and creative chief storyteller.
The college’s chief storyteller generates, or oversees the generation of, content for a wide variety of outlets to share the college’s good news, including its social media accounts, website, newsletters, campus collaborations, department-level publications, and more. This professional must be creative, nimble with technology, capable of making connections, and able to grasp the big picture.
Our chief storyteller supports every single segment of the college – engaging all stakeholders, seeking to connect prospective and current students, alumni, friends, donors, faculty, staff, campus collaborators and members of the business community to our college – elevating our collective good work by sharing our stories.
Specific duties include:
- Creating content for the college, including news items, feature stories, reports and communications support for the college leadership team, ensuring that written content follows AP and MU Style as appropriate.
- Developing communications plans for the college’s marketing and communications department and for large-scale college initiatives.
- Supporting the college’s social media efforts through photography and videography, and maintaining awareness of current trends in social media.
- Supporting content on the college website, ensuring that it is current, dynamic and meets university and industry standards.
- Identifying emerging technologies and industry trends and applying them to the college’s marketing and communications efforts.
- Providing support for other members of the marketing and communications team in areas including graphic design and photography.
- Collaborating with college, campus and industry partners to ensure maximum outcome for the efforts of the marketing and communications team.
Salary
Salary Range: $50,367.00 – $70,880.00 anually
GGS Grade: 010
University Title: Senior Strategic Communications Associate

Shift
8 a.m. to 5 p.m. M-F, with nights and weekends on occasion as needed
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
