Description

Position Summary:

Assists in the provision of child care services for children up to the age of 12.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Facilitates play activities according to the individualized development/education.
  • Document observations as required by the Director of Child Care.
  • Report observations and impressions to the Child Care Director.
  • Insures the facility is maintained according to DCF regulations at all times.
  • Transportation of children as necessary.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

Certifications/Licensures:

  • Forty five (45) hours DCF certification in Introductory Child Care Training and a CDA certification
  • HIV/AIDS Basic Education
  • 20 hours of continuing education required annually.
  • Valid CPR/FA Certification

Education:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Enrolled in College Courses to obtain a two (2) year Degree in Child Care is preferred.

Experience and Competencies:

  • Minimum of one year experience working with infants and toddlers
  • Bilingual is preferred;
  • Must have familiarity with Miami-Dade and Broward County
  • CPR Certification, First Aid Certification and an annual Tuberculosis test.
  • Ability utilize Microsoft Office Software Suite
  • Ability utilize internal electronic health record software
  • Ability to provide an Affidavit of Good Moral Character
  • Clearance in Pre-Employment Drug Testing and Criminal Records Checks, as required.
