Job Summary

This position for the College of Innovation and Technology (CIT) is designed to provide support to all CIT market-related activities content development (digital, print), website maintenance, social media, event organization, marketing data management. You will report directly to the CIT Office Manager.

Responsibilities*

Marketing Collateral Development

  • Work with unit leadership to develop and implement comprehensive marketing plan for the College of Innovation & Technology
  • Create marketing content for multiple platforms (web, social media, print advertising, billboards, video, news stories, commercials)
  • Maintain website, catalog, newsletters, and CIT Social Media accounts
  • Develop digital content for electronic signboards

Market Communications

  • Coordinate communications with industry partners, advisory board members, alumni
  • Write and maintain communications content for multiple delivery methods
  • Identify appropriate delivery methods, including presentations, targeted email, printed documents, newspaper articles, and web pages
  • Coordinate the distribution of internal and external marketing literature.

Work with Marketing and Digital Strategy and other units

  • Coordinate work with MDS
  • Work with marketing colleagues across UMF units (academic and non-academic)
  • Work with external advertising vendors
  • Coordinate and develop communications for large projects, multiple projects and projects with high visibility

Work with Office of Admissions

  • Coordinate with Office of Admissions
  • Develop content for inclusion in CRM

CIT Events

  • Organize and facilitate CIT events
  • Provide support for both Face-to-Face and remote events
  • Produce quality photos and videos from CIT events

Supervision

  • Be the administrative supervisor to CIT’s Unit Recruiting Coordinator
  • Coordinate with recruiter to create and provide media content and stories that can be used in recruitment efforts

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related marketing, advertising, or communications-related profession
  • Requires verbal and written skills
  • 3 or more years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, communications or related field
  • Familiarity with relevant Social Media platforms, along with demonstrated best practices in creating content
  • Working knowledge of WordPress, and other content management systems
  • Experience creating visual content (photos, videos)
  • Experience working with production professionals, including designers, printers, and multiple media formats
  • Demonstrated appreciation for, and understanding of, diversity and inclusion.
  • The ability to authentically and represent the mission, vision and values of the University of Michigan-Flint

Desired Qualifications*

  • Experience in higher education setting
  • Demonstrated understanding of data assessment and quality improvement techniques
  • Knowledge of University policies
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
