Summary:

Responsible for supervising crew members by ensuring productivity, safety, and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Specific duties:

  • Evaluates on-site civil assessment prior to commencing work to ensure that the job is ready and address any concerns.
  • Translates general work requirements and directions given into a prioritized work plan and communicates it to the crew.
  • Assigns civil tasks and oversees the execution of the work including quality and production.
  • Maintains work standards and outlines behavioral expectations to ensure morale, productivity, and safety.
  • Inspects, measures and accurately reports completed civil work.
  • Understands and follows the environmental, quality and safety plans relevant to the site and specific work in progress.
  • Prepares records and reports utilizing electronic tools for accurate reporting.
  • Recognizes, addresses, and resolves issues among crew members.
  • Ability to use and record data accurately in HeavyJob (production/resource management software), Agresso (accounting software) and Aconex (document control software).
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Improves safety performance by working closely with Site Safety Supervisor to identify issues in the field and provided suggestions on ways to improve overall safety of the site.
  • Addresses potential safety hazards at the time of the incident/s and improved processes and procedures to prevent incidents from reoccurring.
  • Drives on remote construction sites.
  • Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action. Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years experience working in a construction environment.
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.

Anticipated base range: $28.00- $30.00

The work environment and physical demands characteristics are representative of those the employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

This position involves Heavy Work: exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, feel, lift and grab; reach with hands and arms; push and pull; climb and balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; talk, see clearly and hear.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.

Construction site environment includes early stage permitting, development and auditing through finished roads and features. Extensive travel with driving to remote sites along with office work in field conditions is also included.
