Clerk, QMS Compliance (CLS) (1st Shift) – Lawrenceville GA

Overview:

The QMS (International Organization for Standardization /Compliance Coordinator position is responsible for all OSHA, Hazmat, and other Safety training and compliance; administration of the site QMS; and release of finished product requiring local certification. Job responsibility includes, but is not limited to, ensuring all compliance training is current and meets regulatory requirements (federal/state/local). The role is also responsible for creating site-specific training around Hazmat Compliance; QMS procedures, Safety Procedures, and Emergency Procedures.

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Ensures that the Quality Manual and all related QMS procedures are maintained and kept current.
  • Fulfills Quality Release requirements for finished products which are received at the facility from an outsourced manufacturing partner.
  • Trains site personnel on documented procedures. Schedules site training to meet APL and customer required compliance and process training.
  • Coordinates QMS audits, and performs QMS training, and internal audits.
  • Researches customer SCARS (Supplier Corrective Action Request), investigates root cause and works with management to develop preventive/corrective action and effectiveness verification.
  • Works direct with Site General Manager during Government Compliance Audits
  • Facilitates monthly Management Review meetings.
  • Trains all APLL Employees and Temporary Workers on Hazmat Compliance, Safety, OSHA, and material handling equipment. Creates all training schedules for work force.
    • Inspects random IATA shipments, and documents to ensure accuracy.

Key Results:

  • Apply the APL Logistics Continuous Improvement (ACI) Model for operational efficiency to improve business process, increase proficiency and increase efficiency through waste elimination
  • Apply the 5S Lean methodology to sustain a safe, clean and orderly facility.
  • Position requires the incumbent’s performance to meet and occasionally exceed standards as set by the company for safety, quality, productivity and customer services.
  • All Hazmat compliance training is current for all employees full time & temporary on site.
  • OSHA & QMS compliance training is current for all employees full time & temporary on site.
  • Ensure site has no compliance issues, with DOT, IMDG, & IATA.
  • All products requiring site Quality release are released within customer requested timeframe.

Qualifications
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in ISO/QMS environment.
  • Must have current certification in DGAC, IATA, DOT HAZMAT Shipping.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Visio process flowcharts.
  • Experience in procedural documentation and record keeping.
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions, to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, assembly instructions and procedures
  • Ability to write legibly and have basic math skills
  • Ability to make decisions on customer acceptance based on past experience and fitness for use
  • Data entry skills
  • Ability to communicate in a professional and positive manner

The hourly wage for this position is $20.00.
