Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Person in this position will be responsible for the clinical oversight of residential and outpatient treatment programs, in collaboration with the Clinical Director for people dealing with SUD and mental health issues. Responsible for the coordination of client care by collaborating with multidisciplinary professionals to provide and facilitate services. Clinical assistance will be provided in a structured manner to assist all staff in dealing with co-occurring disorders. This will include Counselor Techs, CB Facilitators, AOD Counselors and Case Managers. Essential Job Functions include those listed below.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide oversight of the casework process related to harm reduction, substance abuse, ensuring compliance with program standards and the treatment planning.
  • Provide regular training to staff in a group setting on dealing with difficult people, problem resolution techniques, monitoring medication, and other clinical activates.
  • Provide clinical supervision to mental health clinicians working toward their clinical license
  • Ensure that counselors have access to consultation services from the clinician on an individual basis.
  • Facilitate involuntary discharge case staffing per protocol.
  • Participate in crisis management, case staffing meetings and team meetings on a regular basis.
  • Provide clinical services as needed., including family therapy, clinical interventions, and behavior modification services.
  • Assign client mental health referrals to program clinicians.
  • Review mental health assessments of program clinicians.
  • Provide regular group supervision to counselors with focus on fostering motivational interviewing skills, problem solving and trauma informed care. Monitor medication management.
  • Guide the clinical team comprised of Counselor, Counselor Tech, Facilitators, Case Managers, Mental Health Clinicians, Child Development Specialist and Family Services Specialist.
  • Provide documentation of progress notes in case files.
  • Assist in conflict resolution.
  • Determine the need for an arrange for required staff training; and may serve as trainer for program staff.
  • Implement Quality Assurance and Utilization review systems that monitor the effectiveness of the program services.
  • Responsible for the efficient functioning of all aspects of the casework processes; assist in resolving program issue.
  • Approve and monitor the treatment methodology and procedures governing counselor documentation.
  • Participate in design and implementation of research, such as program evaluation and outcome studies.
  • Participate in assessment for proper utilization of EBD and fidelity to the curriculum.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain clearance from California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain clearance from LEIE, MSIL, and EPLS.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCares vehicle insurance is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Fresno County Credentialing.
  • As mandated by the State of California those employees who work at Residential, Outpatient, Sober Living, provide Mental Health Services, Administrative Staff or Transitional Living Facilities must be fully vaccinated and have received a booster. Employees that have requested a Medical or Religious Exemption, which has been approved by Human Resources will be required to test for the virus weekly.
  • During your tenure with WestCare there may be new requirements, including, but not limited to vaccinations that are issued by local, State, Federal, and/or Funders that WestCare may have to comply with. Should this occur Human Resources or appropriate personnel will inform you.
  • CPR Certification, First Aid Certification, and an annual Tuberculosis test.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Two (2) years experience and eligible to supervise clinical interns is required.
  • Must possess a masters degree in a discipline leading to licensure as an LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

  • Must be licensed as a Clinical Psychologist, Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor for at least two (2) years.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work is primarily performed in an office or in a residential/outpatient treatment setting.
  • Some outdoor activities may be required.
  • UA testing of clients is required.
  • Must be able to de-escalate situations in the program.
