Description
SUMMARY:
The Clinical Manager trains and provides structure to the mental health therapeutic programs. This position is responsible for the effective implementation of mental health contracts and policy & procedures according to the agency, state licensing, and other regulatory bodies, including the Department of Mental Health and the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. This position supervises therapists and other mental health department staff in assessment, treatment planning, and service delivery for all clients in a specific program.
JOB DUTIES:
- Effectively manages the delivery of all mental health services to ensure the highest quality level of professional standards for the care and treatment of severely emotionally disturbed children
- Ensures total compliance with all mental health and program service contracts that will demonstrate the consistent delivery and documentation of all such services by qualified staff and for which the funding for such activities is approved
- Provides individual and group clinical supervision to clinicians/therapists per BBS guidelines
- Reviews and approves treatment planning and care coordination for mental health clients to ensure that quality mental health services are therapeutic and responsive to client needs
- Monitors service delivery to ensure clients are seen at a frequency deemed therapeutically appropriate for the client’s needs
- Monitors productivity of all staff in the program and problem solves barriers to appropriate service delivery
- Assures that adequate clinical and mental health staffing and support is provided on a consistent basis
- Responsible for interviewing and hiring candidates in consultation with the Director
- Ensures a 24/7 clinical coverage system is in place for crisis calls
- Closely monitors all special incident reporting to ensure appropriate clinical and program follow-up with all relevant program staff
- Interfaces and consults with contracted psychiatrists
- Consults with clinicians on any all clinical reports written on behalf of clients at the Company, (i.e., reports to attorneys, probation, and/or community resources) to insure continuity of care and that staff are complying with the policy guidelines of the Company
- Attends intra-agency meetings (i.e., DMH, school districts) as a representative of the agency, and interfaces with County liaisons and/or referral sources
- Performs other reasonable related duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
In the course of performing this job, the incumbent typically spends time standing, walking on sloped/hilly areas of campus, carrying, driving, lifting (up to 40 pounds), listening, speaking, reaching, writing, and participating in restraint procedures
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years current licensure as an LCSW or MFT and the ability to supervise
- associate therapists
- One or more years of supervisory/administrative experience in the field of behavioral health services, preferably in programs providing the care and treatment for severely emotionally disturbed children or similar types of settings
- Ability to effectively implement Department of Mental Health and Social Service Department programs in accordance with all required policies and procedures
- Valid California Drivers License and proof of Auto Insurance required
- Must fulfill all requirements of employment, including clearance of all required background records (e.g. Department of Justice, Child Abuse, California Community Care Licensing, County Sanction List, etc.), physical examination, and drug testing
