Clinical Research Billing Associate

We are seeking a reliable, dedicated, experienced Clinical Research Billing Associate to join our growing team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Billing and collection for clinical research patient’s standard of care services.
  • Works closely with insurances to achieve timely billing and collection.
  • Ensures billing compliance by determining how clinical research protocol items and services are billed per federal agency guidelines through the conduct of Medicare Coverage Analysis.
  • Performing quality control and quality assurance measures over clinical research billing (trial opening to close-out).
  • Posting of Research payments and breakdowns in the EMR
  • Conduct financial reconciliation for all services provided to research patients (reviewing and comparing services captured in CTMS and EMR) to achieve billing compliance.
  • Provide financial counseling for research patients upon consenting and during study participation on trial coverage and patient responsibility.
  • Ability to bill out Standard of Care (SOC) services, coding certification preferred.
  • Experience with the use of Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS), preferably RealTime CTMS.
  • Clinical Trial Billing Certified required
  • Obtain authorization for oncology treatments given within clinical trials as standard of care and handles denials.
  • Experience with sponsored oncology clinical research trials
  • Reports to Director of Clinical Research Operations and will work closely with the billing team, finance team, authorization and the clinical research team.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 3 years of experience in Medicare Coverage Analysis preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in research, billing, or healthcare administration preferred.
