Description
Provides trauma informed and empowerment-based therapy to survivors/victims of interpersonal and domestic violence. Students must understand the intersectionality of oppression and privilege and subsequent impact on clients and their ability to engage in services. Interns will provide individual support to diverse populations of different cultural, racial, and ethnic backgrounds. Interns conduct biopsychosocial assessments, document progress notes, complete treatment plans and discharge paperwork under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services. Students will receive weekly clinical supervision, bi-weekly group supervision, and quarterly staff meetings with other departments.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a graduate social work program
- Ability to do placement that is at least 8 months and no less than 16 hours per week.
- Liability insurance (through school or self)
- Must pass a CORI and background check
- Multicultural and multilingual especially desired
