Short Description

Allegiant is introducing AI practices to improve customer experience and optimize internal processes. The airline is also migrating to AWS to take advantage of its cloud services. The Cloud AI Enterprise Architect will play a critical role in leading the design and implementation of AI solutions that align with the airline’s business goals while leveraging Azure and AWS cloud services. Summary

The Cloud AI Enterprise Architect is a technical leadership role that involves guiding the design, development, and implementation of cloud-based AI solutions for Allegiant. The successful candidate must possess a thorough knowledge of cloud cognitive platforms and solutions, with expertise in AWS and Azure (including OpenAI). The Architect will collaborate with stakeholders from different departments to understand their business requirements and collaborate with a team of developers, data scientists, and business analysts to create secure, innovative, and effective AI solutions that address complex business challenges. This role encompasses managing the entire AI solution development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment.

Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Must pass a Criminal Background Check.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Polymath. Minimum of bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related discipline; applied experience or a combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Certification: One or more in the following: Cloud (AWS/Azure), Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

Years of Experience:
• Minimum eight (8) years of experience in enterprise architecture and design of complex cloud-based solutions.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in AI solution design and implementation using AWS, Google Cloud Platform and Azure cognitive services and Open AI technologies. Certifications in related fields can be substituted.
• Ability to lift 80 lbs
• Ability to stay at the forefront of new technology, and operating at bleeding-edge is the paramount requirement of this position.

• Ability to lead a team of technologically and scientifically minded Team Members.
• Strong knowledge and experience in complex technical architectures in real-time and highly available environment.
• Ability to communicate directly with senior leadership and subject matter experts through presentations and discussion.
• Beyond an individual’s Domain of Expertise (General Technology and cross-technology):
• Have a detailed understanding of other technologies and exhibit proficiency in those technologies beyond their core capability.
• Be stretched by assignments into detailed understanding of those areas of technology (including but not limited to, Big Data, AI, Machine Learning, Data Science/Analytics, Compute/Data Center/Cloud Platforms and Containerization).
• Understand the “cross-pollination” of technology verticals and be able to apply both areas of expertise and areas of knowledge to provide a cohesive end-to-end architectural approach and solution.
• Ability to collaborate and engage well with others to solve problems and actively incorporate input from various sources.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Requirements
• Experience with architecting and implementing solutions that leverage Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Neural Networks, and Computer Vision.
• Experience with GitHub Co-Pilot, Azure Codex and AWS Code Whisperer is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of cloud technologies and platforms, including cloud storage, compute, networking, and security.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.

Job Duties
• Design and develop cloud-based AI solutions using Azure and AWS cognitive services and OpenAI technologies.
• Lead architecture design sessions with stakeholders to understand their requirements and recommend solutions that align with their business objectives.
• Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure AI solutions that can integrate with existing enterprise systems.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on the organization’s AI strategy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement AI- and data-driven solutions that enable business growth and optimize operations.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams to ensure solutions are aligned with industry best practices and meet quality standards.
• Define and implement governance policies, procedures, and best practices for AI systems.
• Conduct technology assessments, proof-of-concepts, and prototypes to validate the feasibility of new AI solutions.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI and cloud technology to ensure the organization is at the forefront of innovation.
• Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, including infrastructure, platform, and software as a service (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
• Provide regular communications to the AI transformation steering committee jointly with the CTO, other AI principals and leaders, regarding the changing technology landscape and applicability for use within Allegiant.
• Work with CTO & Legal to ensure IP is managed appropriately and win/win Joint Development Agreements are negotiated.
• Facilitate governance over AI research portfolio and conduct research activities within a governance framework that maximizes available tax benefits.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, creative problem solving & ownership that enables innovation & empowers team members.
• Ensure any direct reports understand and apply our Customer Commitment and customer service standards to their daily responsibilities as appropriate.
• Model Allegiant’s customer service standards in personal actions and when providing leadership direction.
• Other duties as assigned.

Office/IT – While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, key board, printer, and phone. May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. May be required to work various shifts/days in a 24 hour situation. Regular attendance is a requirement of the role. Exposure to moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, printers, and foot traffic), temperature and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
