POSITION DESCRIPTION: Leads cloud program and efforts to develop reporting documents on the Department’s Cloud Services Strategy. Coordinates with project team members to provide status reports as required by the Department of Management Services (DMS) as well as the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) management. Evaluates and documents the impact analysis and risk factors associated with cloud hosting and migration projects.
Coordinates with members from external agencies and internal DOT offices on key initiatives, including cloud governance to ensure guidelines are followed and services are delivered. Coordinates communication with all areas of the enterprise that impact scope, budget, risk and resources of the work effort being managed.
Monitors effectively, control and support Cloud Services ensuring systems, methodologies and procedures are followed.
Facilitate multi-cloud solutions to meet enterprise-wide infrastructure needs.
Establish and implement management processes and methodologies for requesting cloud technology services community to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations.
Stays current of changing legislation and requirements from the Department of Management Services by attending meetings, reading on-line resources. Stays current by reading technical publications to be aware of technology changes and advancements. Participate in training courses to enhance technical knowledge.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of Cloud technology and services. Knowledge of Cloud computing platforms, administration, and tools. Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures of cloud technology, including Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) procedures, concepts, and techniques. Knowledge of project management and the value of completing projects on time and within budget. Knowledge of facilitating successful work sessions and meetings. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Skill in strategic thinking. Skill in verbal and written communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and customer service. Skill at stakeholder management and communication. Ability to balance multiple demands and work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to integrate research and best practices into problem avoidance and continuous improvement. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and five years of experience implementing cloud services’ best practices in one of the following disciplines: Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, Management/Business, or Computer Science; or an Associate’s degree from and accredited college and seven years of experience in the computer field with knowledge of systems analysis and/or project management. Experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
Preferred Qualifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, Azure, or AWS Cloud Solutions Certification. Experience creating presentations in MS PowerPoint or Publisher.
