Responsibilities
The CME Specialist collaborates with physician and non-physician course directors in the design, implementation, and evaluation of continuing medical education courses. The CME Specialist is responsible for ensuring that Mayo CME programs meet all Mayo policies and Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) essential areas and standards. Job functions include designing educational needs assessment tools, developing behavioral objectives, designing/implementing CME courses, and evaluating course outcomes with the goal of improving patient care. The CME Specialist is responsible for complete documentation of the educational process. The CME Specialist serves as an education consultant to physician and non-physician course directors, manages course budgets and finances, develops and implements effective course marketing plans, negotiates supplier contracts, and executes and documents the course planning process. Central to the success of the continuing medical education courses is effective and timely project management, inclusive of both internal and external resources of MSCME and Mayo Clinic.
This position will support the Mayo Clinic School of Continuous Professional Development.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business, Communications, Marketing or related field required. Continuing Medical Education, meeting management, or related experience of 3 or more years required. Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and/or American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) certification designation preferred Must be able to travel to execute courses. Demonstrated project management skills Demonstrated success in managing individuals, small work groups, and teams Proficiency in word processing, database, and meeting management computer software required.
