CNC Operator

3rd shift: Sunday through Thursday (10:45pm-7am)

Your Role:

Be involved in a variety of responsibilities in the operation of manual and computer numerical control type of machine tools such as vertical machining centers and turning centers!

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Work from drawings and/or written or oral instructions, read and interpret complicated drawings to resolve accurate specifications.
  • Preset tools using our tool measuring machine.
  • Supervise operations and take corrective action as the need arises.
  • Confirm safe and accurate operation of all machining equipment.
  • Efficiently use Drop, Height and Thread Gauges, Micrometers and Vernier Calipers.
  • Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual circumstances to group leader or supervisor.
  • Maintain established quality standards and follow quality procedures
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports as needed.
  • Ensure that work area and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly condition; that prescribed safety measures are followed, and that established company policies and procedures are adhered to.

What You’ll Bring:

  • H.S Diploma/GED equivalent is required. Associate Degree preferred.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in related role.
  • Understanding of standard measurement principles & blueprint reading.
  • Proficiency using calipers, comparator, micrometers, and fixed gauges to close tolerances will be essential.
  • This position requires you to work in oils and cutting fluids, constant standing and bending.
  • Overtime may be required.

Physical Requirements:

  • The worker is required to have natural or corrected near-distance visual acuity of 20/25.
  • Be able to lift 50 lbs. daily, assistance required when lifting above 50 lbs.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has an annualized salary of $36,000 to $90,000.
