CNC Turret Operator
Job Description

Reports To: DipLine Supervisor
Pay: $17.50 + $2.00 shift premium = $19.50
Summary
Operates turret punch press to punch holes or layout marks in metal sheets, plates, strips, or bars, following charts which list machine settings for each cut: Inserts, aligns, and locks punches and dies in turret, using hammer, shims, feelers, micrometers, and setscrews.
Qualifications
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operates turret punch press to punch holes or layout marks in metal sheets, plates, strips, or bars, following charts which list machine settings for each cut: Inserts, aligns, and locks punches and dies in turret, using hammer, shims, feelers, micrometers, and setscrews.
- Places workpiece on table manually.
- Aligns workpiece to scale and clamps it to machine table.
- Pushes button to turn turret to specified punch and die.
- Presses pedal to activate punch.
- Repeats operation for each machine setting specified on list.
- Uses blueprints and applying knowledge of shop mathematics.
- Use manual tools to pop out parts out of skeleton
- Move parts to brake to be bent
- Place part on roller table and push to next operation
- Other duties may be assigned by Manager or Supervisor.

- Work experience in a manufacturing environment
- CNC experience

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence as well as be able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Reasoning Ability
Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to operate the computer system attached to Turret by being able to assess part number.
Other Skills
Must be able to use the brake press for the second operation
Must be able to use hand tools for changing dies and removing skeletons from punched part
