Project manager – offshore wind

Candidate Specification

We welcome applications from experience project managers with the following:

  • experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • onshore/nearshore routing design experience
    • project development experience including understanding of various field activities
    • experience planning and designing linear infrastructure in urban area
  • Utility engineering ideally with renewable energy, power cables, and wind experience would be an advantage
  • Professional engineering license preferred
  • excellent communication skills with the ability to relate to others at all levels
  • good leadership skills with the ability to work with and motivate staff in a global setting

Demonstrable experience ideally including:

  • experience working in the North American region, including with developers, regulators and project stakeholders
  • project management expertise across a wide range of disciplines, contract/procurement routes and market sectors
  • experience of managing and leading multi-disciplined teams
  • strong commercial focus with the ability to identify and manage risk
  • development of contractor bid packages, construction management would be an advantage

Salary Range: $130K – $180K

Job Description

Due to increased success within the offshore wind sector, we are now looking a project manager to join our team. The role will broadly be to provide project management and engineering services to clients looking for technical advisory and owner’s engineering services particularly related to linear aspects of power projects. Mott MacDonald’s offshore wind portfolio is extensive with a strong order book for IE, O/E, and design engineering activities in the renewables space in the US.

As a project manager you will work with all the disciplines required to meet linear aspects of project needs (for example, civil, environmental, electrical). You will be responsible for:

  • coordinating tasks and managing projects
  • supporting and coordinating commercial proposals (bids)
  • working closely with other Mott MacDonald business teams and units
  • assisting with professional excellence activities across subject areas
  • raising the profile of projects internally and externally
  • QA/QC of work product, support of team members and delivery to client
