Developed by a coalition of San Diego civic leaders and educators, High Tech High opened in September 2000 as a small public charter school with plans to serve approximately 450 students. HTH has evolved into an integrated network of sixteen charter schools serving approximately 6,350 students in grades K-12 across four campuses. JOB SUMMARY
As the College Pathways Assistant, your primary responsibility is to provide essential support to the Director of College Advising in helping students navigate the journey to higher education. You will focus on promoting college access, particularly for underrepresented populations, and offer guidance to students during the financial aid application process. Collaborating with teachers and the College & Career Access Team, you will aid in student progress tracking and a range of activities designed to prepare students for college and career success. Your role is instrumental in ensuring that students have a clear path to achieve their educational and career goals.
Duties include:
• Facilitate access to college resources and opportunities geared toward assisting underrepresented populations
• Offer guidance to students throughout the financial aid process
• Support junior/senior level college counseling teachers with lesson planning and execution
• Provide college counseling coaching support to the junior/senior counselors as they prepare students for college access and success in higher education
• Participate in bi-weekly meetings as a member of the College & Career Access Team which utilizes PDSA cycles to track and identify students who require additional support
• Assist in the organization of family engagement workshops related to college access goals
• Support in the maintenance of student data progress and share regularly with the Director of College Advising
• Assist Director of College Advising in planning and coordinating parent nights, college visits, guest speakers, career exploration trips, and other college and career access programming
• Become familiar with the various technology platforms that support the college & career access work: Scoir, Powerschool, and the primary on-line applications-UC, CSU, and Community College applications.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
• A minimum of 60 college credits completed
• Experience in a school/learning environment preferred
