Position Title: Colocation & Facilities Specialist (P3)

Role
The Colocation & Facilities Specialist is responsible for managing the sourcing, ordering, tracking and ongoing records auditing and reconciliation of colocation space, power, terminations, customer circuit components and other leased 3rd party network interconnections. As a key member of the Off Net Operations (ONS) team, this person is required to drive continual process improvement, gain operational efficiency, control costs and to provide a level of service which meets or exceeds customer and other department expectations.
Responsibilities
- Obtain pricing and process colocation & facility orders with 3rd party carriers and service providers – Initial Applications, Augments, Disconnects relating to Power, Equipment and/or Space.
- Act as single point of contact for colocation provider account team(s). Maintain effective relationships with all providers.
- Ensure committed installation dates are met, and communicate effectively with Project Management, Engineering and other company departments as needed.
- Lead facility audits, consolidation efforts, billing verification and cost savings initiatives
- Act as 3rd Party collocation & facility subject matter expert and single point of contact to other company departments
- Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion.
- Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
- Inspect colocation sites on a regularly scheduled basis.
- Maintain rate sheets and service availability documentation for each colocation facility across the network.
- Ensure access and security authorization lists are current with each 3rd party service provider. Coordinate with CCF Physical Security team as required.
Expectations
- Thorough technical knowledge of and familiarity with colocation spaces, meet-me-rooms, carrier hotels and cross-connect types, e.g. DRT, Equinix, Verizon etc.
- Familiarity with circuit inventory and facility management OSS applications. NetCracker experience desired.
- Ability to work with 3rd party vendors – contract negotiation, records auditing and correcting, invoice reconciliation (with assistance from Finance team).
- Experience managing multiple vendors and resources in order to deliver time-sensitive projects.
- Intermediate (or better) knowledge of MS Excel.
Education/Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
Experience/Minimum Requirements
- 5 years of Telecommunications Operations experience
- Experienced with colocation spaces, meet-me-rooms, carrier hotels and cross-connect types, e.g. DRT, Equinix, Verizon etc.
- Understanding of AC and DC power distribution
- Understanding of colocation provider installation, test and turn-up procedures
- Understanding of Ethernet technologies
- Understanding of SONET/TDM technologies
- Experience with the following OSS applications preferred:
- NetCracker
- Microsoft Dynamics CRM

Working Conditions: This role falls into our hybrid work model working in your assigned office approximately 60% of the time (3 days per week) and where you do your best work 40% (2 days per week). Beginning September 5, 2023 our hybrid work model will be adjusted to 4 days in the office on Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, teammates on the hybrid schedule will have the option to work from the office or home.
For New York City, Colorado, California and Washington residents – The hiring range offered for this position is $75,000 – $104,000 annually. In addition to salary, employees are eligible for an annual bonus of up to 15% of annual salary and restricted stock. Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive 18 days of paid time off each year and 12 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
