Commercial Cards Product Data Governance Office (DGO) team drives adoption of Citi’s data management best practices and standards across products, functions and regions. We are both evangelists who move the Cards team closer to the Enterprise and Federated Chief Data Office (CDO) vision of data literacy as well as champions of our business and its goals to the larger TTS DGO and CDO organizations.
The Data Governance and Platforms and Data Services (PDS) Senior Lead for Commercial Cards will be working with the CDO, TTS Business DGO, Global Functions, Comm cards Business, Operations, Technology and other partners, to ensure Comm cards business adherence to Citi’s Data Governance Policy (CDGP). This position will take responsibility for various data governance initiatives as directed by the Commercial Cards Data Governance Officer, which can include:
- Communicate data vision and bring awareness and adherence to CDGP across Commercial Cards Business globally, including new initiatives, enhancements, and ongoing maintenance efforts. Ensure business data owners across regional teams are responsible for policy execution.
- Drive alignment between the CDO, Global functions and Comm cards Business partners in understanding of the CDGP and other Data Standards
- Support, do quality assurance and credible challenge of the Business execution of new and change activities including documentation and maintenance of process flows, implementation of product launches, documentation of system lineage, implementation of enterprise data standards and definitions
- Ensure the Business understands the risk, finance, regulatory, and management reporting requirements (i.e., data consumption)
- Governance of the data management efforts including metrics monitoring data quality issues, data lineage and other
- Identify and maintain Critical Data Elements (CDEs), data quality rules, detect gaps and help Business remediate those via CDO defined Data Concerns Remediation Management process
- Ingrain the Citi Enterprise Architecture Methodology (CEAM) paradigm to Cards Business Process Architecture as envisioned by ECDO
In addition to data governance activities, the Commercial Cards Global Data team is focused on delivering actionable insights to business, clients, and internal stakeholders, in accessible formats and channels by working with PDS team and implementing analytics platform. In this role, it will require to also work on various data delivery initiatives, the ongoing day to day project prioritization and coordination with Commercial Cards partners.
Responsibilities:
- The Data Governance and Platforms and Data Services (PDS) Senior Lead for Commercial Cards is responsible for assisting the business to utilize data assets for competitive advantage and regulatory compliance, adoption of Data Concern Remediation Management (DCRM) and supporting Data Stewards (DS) team on investigation, root cause analysis and then remediation of data quality gaps.
- Educating oneself and the larger Cards front office on emerging data regulations and risk mitigation as outlined by Citi policies activities related to the development of new products and/or features and functionalities of products including developing business cases, requirements definition (BRDs), product enhancements innovation, feature and functionality definition based on market and industry research and trends and client needs
- Identifies, gathers, and organizes business and client insights, internal innovation ideas, marketplace analyses and trends to drive to new concepts
- Creates a product vision aligned to business priorities and corresponding road-map to delivery
- Provides Product Owner support using Agile methodology to translate the strategic vision into technical requirements for product execution
- Conceptualizes, plans, prioritizes, coordinates design and delivery of products or features to product release, and serves as product ambassador within user community
- Works in close co-ordination with Technology, Business Managers and other stakeholders to fulfill the delivery objectives
- Manages and implements a wide variety of products and solutions
- This role executes on the end-to-end product development lifecycle and will also scope product releases, agreeing to and tracking business priorities, incorporating regulatory and compliance requirements and investment tracking
- Has responsibility to deliver direct business results and advice regarding product development that necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy
- Partners with business leaders and a widely distributed global user community to define and implement solutions
- Has direct interaction with sales, business managers and technology, to understand their long-term vision, discuss industry trends, and incorporate them into the product & solutions strategy
- Focuses on controls and governance, including performing Need-to-Know based security and access reviews, Access Approvals, controls testing and documentation
- Follows market, industry and client trends to own field and adapts them for application Citi’s products and solutions platforms
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience
- Commercial or Consumer card experience
- Experience in data governance
- Intellectual curiosity, analytical, problem-solving skills and conceptual thinker
- Understanding of data-related concepts like databases, data lakes, analytics and so on
- Familiarity with Agile/Kanban and product development methodologies
- Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills
- Proactively seeks and develops new opportunities
- Attention to detail and process/analytic mindset
- Ability to build networks and relationships internally and externally
- Direct experience in end-to-end project delivery, preferably in product development, and knowledge of various analytical tools including Qlikview, Tableau, Access
- Comfortable with performing data investigations that require a high degree of accuracy with tight timescales
- Ability to create business analysis, troubleshoot data quality issues, and conduct exploratory and descriptive analysis of business datasets
- Ability to structure and break down problems, develop solutions, and to drive to results
- Process Management knowledge with a propensity for detail and comprehensiveness of content
- Ability to collaborate and clearly communicate with team members of an organization
- Project Management skills with experience leading large cross functional initiatives is good to have
- Generation of reports and presentations for management
Education:
Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
