Job Description
We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Commercial Development Manager who will be instrumental in driving our company’s growth through the expansion of customer accounts, segments and territories. As the driving force behind our business development process, you will proactively assess and map the market, develop brand game-boards and cultivation plans, and pursue new opportunities. Leveraging your expertise in prospecting, social selling, and with digital sales tools, you will independently spearhead our expansion efforts, foster strong relationships, and deliver compelling proposals tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients.
In close collaboration with cross-functional teams, you will develop and execute targeted strategies that effectively position our products and services within the market. Responsibilities:
- Provide team leadership and oversight of Commercial Development Associates
- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify potential target territories, segments and accounts for expansion.
- Develop and maintain an actionable game-board of target accounts in coordination with cross-business and functional counterparts.
- Independently develop and execute strategies to penetrate new accounts and territories, with a focus on revenue growth and customer acquisition.
- Utilize social selling techniques to engage with potential customers, build relationships, and generate leads.
- Conduct customer outreach and effectively communicate our value proposition to drive interest and engagement.
- Leverage tools such as ZoomInfo and LinkedIn Sales Navigator to identify key decision-makers and influencers within target accounts.
- Collaborate with internal teams to tailor sales pitches, presentations, and proposals that align with customer needs and preferences.
- Effectively lead negotiations, contract discussions, and close deals to successfully onboard new customers.
- Track and analyze key performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of account expansion efforts and make data-driven adjustments as needed.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer insights to inform strategic decision-making and optimize expansion strategies.
- Provide regular reporting and updates to commercial leadership on progress, challenges, and opportunities related to account and territory expansion.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience and proven track record of successfully expanding customer accounts and territories, with a focus on revenue growth. Management experience preferred
- Familiarity with business development practices with an ability to define, develop and drive the end-to-end processes through to customer acquisition
- Strong experience and proficiency in prospecting, social selling, and customer outreach.
- Familiarity with using tools such as ZoomInfo and LinkedIn Sales Navigator for lead generation and account research.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence decision-makers.
- Keen ability to navigate stakeholder complexity and to draw on subject matter experts.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills, with a results-driven mindset.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to track and interpret key performance metrics.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

Additional Information
The base salary range for this position is $112,400 – $145,500 / year.
The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
