WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
This position is responsible for directing and overseeing the day-to day balancing and reconciling activities for all ‘pass-through’ loan accounts prepared by Loan Balancing Officers and/or Specialists. Must focus on and demonstrate appropriate controls are in place to meet or exceed FDIC/SOX requirements as tested by internal and external audit examinations. Responsibilities include reconciling loan and lease control accounts, revolving credit ‘in-process’ account, asset and liabilities suspense accounts, clearing all posting rejects and non-posts, and correcting transactions as needed.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Oversees and reviews the timely completion of reconcilement activities for out of balance conditions for all loan and lease control accounts. Includes but not limited to the review of individual loan processor’s transactions, when applicable, and passes any correcting entries that may be required.
- Oversees and reviews FIS and AFS reports for reconcilement of loan asset account balances. Ensures for the timely completion of correcting entries that may be required.
- Oversees and reviews the daily reconcilement process of designated DDA “bank control” accounts (e.g., ACH payments, consumer loan closing costs, etc.), GL transaction accounts (e.g., Cash Item Holdovers, East Coast Fundings, Colson Payable, SBA Repurchase payables) and charged off loans.
- Oversees and reviews the daily reconcilement of the wire-in-process deposit accounts, which includes a review of all outgoing wire transfers verifying dollar amounts and appropriate approvals.
- Oversees and reviews the reconcilement of the daily suspense resources, suspense liabilities and undisbursed borrower’s funds.
- Serves as subject matter expert and liaison with internal and external auditors and cross-functional task or project teams.
- Ensures the maintenance of ledger files, balancing, reconcilement and GL records per internal guidelines, and processes transactions related to bulk mortgage loans.
- Maintains a proactive commitment to established bank programs, such as Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and Affirmative Action.
- Complies fully with all Bank Operational and Credit policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements (e.g. Bank Secrecy Act, Know Your Client, Community Reinvestment Act, Fair Lending Practices, Code of Conduct, etc.).
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Must-Have*
- Minimum of 5 years commercial loan processing experience
- Minimum of 2 years accounting specialization in balancing pass-through accounts and interface applications
- Minimum of 5 years of basic accounting experience
Skills and Knowledge
- Working knowledge and understanding of accounting processes
- Adequate exposure to specialized loan areas like non-accrual accounting charge-off process and dual accounting functions and participations will be necessary
- Knowledge of Interface relationship from FMS, Deposits, POD items, etc. is critical to the balancing function.
- Solid problem solving and extensive knowledge of financial calculations required
- Ability to review and reconcile a heavy volume of transactions and provide solutions to most problems
- Knowledge of FIS, AFS, and Peoplesoft applications are preferred
Compensation
Starting base salary: $78,970 – $126,140 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
