We ‘ re looking for a Commissioning Leader to join our West Geography, to be located in Los Angeles , San Francisco, or Oakland office s . You will be part of the regional commissioning leadership team and will be helping grow and continue to develop Arup’s offering providing a broad range of commissioning services to both public and private clients. Our team works on projects like Los Angeles Community College District LEED commissioning services, Global Major Retailer design peer reviews & commissioning services for HVAC, building automation systems and lighting controls; California DMV new build central plant commissioning planning, specifications, pre-functional and functional performance testing.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Build and mentor a diverse commissioning team
- Lead the development of client relationships with a focus on building and maintaining quality relationships that lead to repeat business
- Lead Commissioning project work – including new building commissioning, monitoring based commissioning, retro-commissioning, energy efficiency retrofit, and demand management projects in the science, healthcare, higher education, transportation and commercial sectors
- Coordinate teams providing commission ing services for MEP systems, lighting, facades and control systems in both new and existing buildings
- Provide measurement and verification services
- Perform in-house design reviews and make recommendations for design improvements
- Contribute to and help develop regional standards for commissioning best practices, such as: digital platforms, test sheets and forms, commissioning specifications and site practices, monitoring based commissioning analytics and rule sets
- Stay current and take leadership in relevant industry developments and technology advancements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering , Electrical Engineering , or similar.
- 1 5 + years of experience winning and delivering commissioning / retro- commissioning projects
- Experience developing and delivering a business strategy and work winning efforts
- PE or Commissioning Qualification, such as CCP, CxA , BCxP (required)
- Commissioning Qualification ( desired )
- LEED AP (desired)
- Project sector experience in higher education, science, industry, healthcare , government, or transportation
- Influential profile from professional relationships and speaking engagements
- Experience leading and mentoring teams

California Hiring Range – The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Los Angeles is $ 175,000 to $ 210,000 per year. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Los Angeles will differ.
